Memorial Day 2012

It's been a while where Jeff and I had an extra day off together so we decided to spend the day at the Richard Nixon Library since it was free to get in and it's only about 10 minutes from our house.

Some photos of our trip:

Outside of the library, on the way inside.

Pat and Richard Nixon's Gravesite.

The house that Nixon was actually born in. I guess there was a really bad storm in Yorba Linda that year and they urged everyone to stay inside their homes so they had a doctor sent to the house and he was born in one of the rooms inside.

Backside of the house.

Scarlett bein' a ham.

Jeff and the Marine One Helicopter. We got to go inside and see where the President and First Lady sat.

You aren't allowed to take pics inside, but I found one off of google:

A piece of the Berlin Wall.

The President's Limo.

And some campaign buttons and stickers.

Super fun day and it was nice to finally see whats just around the corner from our house. You can also have your wedding here...I bet it costs some $$$!

Number Wedding Invite Anniversary Cards

In honor of our anniversary that was yesterday, I tried to think of a cute and clever anniversary card idea for Jeff. I hate shopping for cards. They're always so impersonal and ugly and EXPENSIVE. $5 for an ugly card? No thanks. If i'm going to buy a card it has to have a pretty design on it or letterpress and I don't get much time to just dash on over to a specialty card shop or paper source. So that meant I needed to make one, and quick. I waited 'till one day before our anniversary and I was watching Scarlett all day so that meant I had about an hour, while she was napping. We have tons of invites left over from our wedding so I thought I could cut a two out of it and tape it on some cardstock...20 min...and done! I thought it came out pretty good. You could use this for any anniversary!

All I did was print out a number "2" from Adobe Illustrator to fit a 5x7 card (with some room for borders), traced the number onto the invite, then cut it out and taped it onto the cardstock. Then I finished it with a brown envelope from paper source. Easy!

2 Years

It seems like our wedding day was so long ago, yet I remember every last detail and moment. So much has changed since and I wouldn't want it any other way. Happy anniversary to us.

Silly Girl

I could seriously listen to this laugh all day long.

Our First Solo Trip to Disneyland

For some reason I was kind of afraid to attempt this on my own. Juggling all of the stuff, trying to collapse the stroller by myself while trying to get on the tram, stopping to feed her, waiting in line...sort of seemed impossible to me, but we did it! We went on Monday and although it was hot and she wouldn't keep her hat on for nothin', she did really good. We only went on 3 rides, but it was fun just to be there instead of sitting at home. Now that I know it can be done I think we'll be going more often!

Pics aren't the greatest...it's hard holding a baby who thinks my cell phone is her toy while trying to get a good shot!
